Elastic and Diffractive Scattering and QCD based henomenology

Abstract

Theoretical study of elastic and diffractive scattering was carried out. Eikonal picture and Regge theory gives good results and account for a wide variety of data. Ideas of QCD are incorporated in geometrical picture and there seems to emerge a plausible picture of elastic scattering consistent with the ideas of standard model. Results were presented at various international conferences and published subsequently. Research Scholar employed in the project, who is working for his Ph.D., was trained to work in the same field.
