dc.description.abstract |
401 water samples were collected from different parts of the country and were chemically examined. 28.5% samples contained total solids higher than desirable. 30.25% were found higher in sulphate contents. 5% samples were found higher in nitrate content. Iron was not detected in any of the water sample. Nitrites were present in most of the water supplies.
Plan for further work on the project:
1. More water samples from Sindh and Balochistan provinces will be obtained and analyzed for chemical constituents determined in the first phase of study.
2. Study of the following chemicals of health importance, in water samples already collected from different parts of the country will be continued in the second phase of study.
a. Calcium b. Zinc c. Chromium hexavalent
3. Study of the following chemicals in water samples already collected from different parts of the country will be continued in the third phase of study.\
a. LITHIUM
b. IODINE
c. MANGANESE
d. TITANIUM
e. COBALT
f. SELENIUM
g. VANADIUM
4. The forth phase of the study will be devoted to the analysis of water from those springs, rivers, lakes and wells of the country which are locally famous from health aspects,. |
