dc.description.abstract 1..ntergeneric hybridization investigations in cereals, particularly the Triticeae, have gained greater research interest since the late 1960's. find:; ye recovery has remained alarmingly low, and at times has only been possible after utilizing spcL:iai pTc-4-ind/or post-pollination manipulative pro¬cedures in attempts to enhance erossa bill ty. This vapr describes efforts to improve Triticumaestivum L. (2n,---6x=422 A.ABBDD) by utilizing the alien genetic variation of diverse genera for incorporation of resistance or tolerance to soil and environmental stresses. Some intergerteric hybrids between species, Eiyrnus species, Haynaldia viii osar, Hordeum Vtilgare Seeale cereale, T. turgidum, T aestivum are. described, Additionally are described hybrids of potential agricultural gain and those with limitations of practicality, en_US
