Abstract:
Substituted imidazole were prepared by modi fi cation of known methods. Some substitutions, e.g. acetyl at ion, at the 2-position of these convounds were also carried out. A few hydrazones of I-triphenylmethyl imi daz01e-2-carboxaldehyde have also been prepared during the course of this work. Reaction of the 2-aldehyde with ethyl nitroacetate is also described.
