dc.description.abstract The first rechargeable battery which is using the oxidation and reduction reactions of the protein has been prepared. The source of oxidizeable protein is the boiled kidney bean and that of the reducible protein is chickpea. This battery is composed of six cells. It can give a maximum voltage of 12 volt on full charging. The current intensity of this battery can be adjusted by changing the electrolyte and the surface area of graphite electrodes. The dependence of the voltage on the nature of electrolyte and the strength of the charging source was also discussed. en_US
