Abstract:
Some novel metal carboxylates bearing phenyl ferrocene were synthesized by the reaction of Na salt of 4-ferrocenylbenzoic acid with different transition metal phosphine complexes using dichloromethane as solvent. 4-ferrocenylbenzoic acid was synthesized by a reported method. Transition metal phosphine complexes were prepared by the reaction of transition metal salts with triphenylphosphine in 2-propanol.The resulting metal carboxylates bearing phenyl ferrocene were characterized by their physical properties elemental analysis, Infrared, UV-Visible, atomic absorption, ¹H, ¹³C, ³¹P-NMR spectral studies and conductometric measurements. Coordination of carboxyl group to metal and presence of ferrocene moiety have been supported by spectral studies.
