Abstract:
Sesquiterpene lactone derivatives, diversolides-C (giferolide) (1), -D (malafilin) (2), and -E (fegvolide) (3), isolated from the roots of Ferula diversivittata, Regel. & Schmalh, were evaluated for α-chymotrypsin and urease inhibition activities. Diversolide-E (3) was found to be a moderate inhibitor against both enzymes while all others were found to be inactive. The IC₁₅₀ ± SEM values of 3 were 388.2 ± 1.7 µM, and 116.0 ± 4.8 µM for α-chymotrypsin and urease, respectively.
